Yemen Crisis

Yemen is currently the largest humanitarian crisis, globally. Millions of civilians, including children, require assistance. The infrastructure is failing-- food and water are becoming more and more inaccessible, health services are losing medical equipment, and schools are shutting down. With the newly introduced struggle of COVID-19, Yemen is facing additional challenges. Hospitals lack PPE, health workers are not receiving any salaries, and children are further losing their opportunities to get an education.

Junk Terror Bill

In the Philippines, President Rodrigo Duterte signed the Anti-Terrorism Bill into law. This bill provides an over-broad definition of terrorism and poses as a threat to environmental advocates, community organizers, and activists. People can be considered terrorists for causing damage to government property, buying or carrying anything that can be considered a weapon, donating to relief drives that aren't government-recognized, protesting, and even sharing posts on social media. The government would have absolute power in defining terrorism, who to consider terrorists, and how to punish them. Violating the Philippines Bill of Rights, the Anti-Terrorism Bill removes the concepts of checks and balances, rights to due process, and freedom of expression.

Xinjiang Camps

In Xinjiang, China, groups of Muslim minorities have been forced into camps for years, with the goal of taking away their culture and traditions. For many years, the Chinese government has been working to eradicate Muslim beliefs and practices, trying to enforce their own language and customs. While the camps have been claimed to be made for the purpose of creating vocational skills training centers, it has been proven that the people in these camps have been sent to work in the industrial parks or even forced into labor.
