BR Political and Social Awareness allows people to educate themselves on current events and human rights issues. We strive to take action locally and globally, as well as learn advocacy. Not only do we offer you opportunities to help your community, we also plan to have fun nights and events throughout the year.
Online meetings will take place on Thursdays biweekly from 3-3:30 PM. You can join from the comfort of your own home, requiring no transportation and allowing for easy accessibility.
OUR OBJECTIVES
PSA is an objectively diverse club with something for everyone to make themselves a better global citizen and positively impact their community.
LEARN
Step one in being an engaged member of society and a vocal activist is educating yourself on the issues in this world. Through interactive presentations and member-led lessons, we plan on exposing our members to prevalent human rights issues and current events. Informal debates and discussions will help this incentive further.
FUNDRAISE
Through fun events, such as Movie Nights and themed nights, we plan on having fun, but educational, activities to raise money for preferred charities that will vary each month based on the month’s focus. By selling t-shirts, baked goods, and other items like candy grams, we can make a great difference through donations for important causes.
ACT
We are providing several service opportunities for SERVICE HOURS, so we can help out our community, in regards to issues such as hunger, poverty, inequality, and more. Use your voice to make a change. We will host discussions on how to be more active locally and globally, and how to work on your public speaking skills. Learn the importance of participating in social and political spheres of life.
EDUCATE
Create Instagram posts, flyers, infographics, or presentations with us to help educate our peers, friends, and families. Spread the knowledge you gain and help make a change.
